A Sight Unseen: An Original Poem

I walk along the darkened path,
Where no one else can see me;
Not a living soul in sight,
Not that there should be.

It's the loneliest road I know,
More terrible than it seems;
Only certain spirits were around,
To hear my silent screams.

I watch them one by one,
Pass by the brightest tree;
Hoping for a bit of light,
So that they could be seen.

I finally reached the end,
Regaining some of my sight;
I ran straight into his arms,
I had finally found my light.
